For the drainage well system, the well system shall be located as close as possible to the toe of the downstream dam. For the well diameter, it mainly depends on the construction conditions, well pipe materials and the thickness of the inverted filter layer.
The commonly used well pipe diameter is 20~40cm, and the effective well diameter after considering the inverted filter layer is usually 40~60cm.
The penetration of drainage wells is a very important factor, when the penetration is small, the drainage decompression effect is poor.
